Stuffed Mozarella
Ingredients
- 1 medium/big mozzarella
- 1 tomato
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 peperoncino (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- fresh/dried oregano
- fresh green basil
- 1 pinch of salt
Let’s prepare
Soak the mozzarella very well before use and carefully cut out the center of the piece with a sharp knife (or your fingers), making it look like a bowl.
Dice the tomato into medium cubes and chop the celery. If you like it hot, just like we do, you can dice nicely a peperoncino, which is the Italian name for chilli peppers. Season the vegetables with the olive oil (1 tbsp), the salt (1 pinch) and the chopped dry or fresh oregano. We would always suggest you use fresh herbs, as their flavor is just gorgeous and make every dish taste even better.
Tip the mixture in the mozzarella bowl and decorate with whole fresh green basil leaves.
If you like to, you can still pour another drop or two of olive oil on top and season with just a bit of salt (since mozzarella is a very salt-free cheese).
